Free Writing

Filed under: My Writngs — audlife @ 6:19 pm

A few months ago when I was in the library at school and I had run out of things to do, I went onto the computer and just started writing, doing a real free write, where you just start writing about what ever comes out. Here is an excerpt from what I wrote.

“Now. We stand, watching a living home, stare down the little boy and wonder at his amazing wonders. He cannot see what the house is thinking, but the house knows what the little boy is think. I know where I am going to find that boy and then we will find that one gem that everyone searches for. Friends and foes are not so far apart and not so close either. A friend is love a foe is hate. And if love and hate are not opposites friends and foes are not opposites either. I know that my true friends love me and I love them. Don’t let anyone understand that you care what they think, because you are who you say you are, and you must remember not to say bad things about yourself or else others will say the same. I know that life will throw things at me over and over again but soon I will be out on my own, then it will throw more.”

Just a glimpse of my mind.

Camp Winnarainbow Experience

Filed under: My Writngs, Vacation! — audlife @ 6:16 pm

This summer while at the camp I go to every year, I had a cool experience. I wrote about it some time in the first month of school.

The sea of young bright faces are silent, watching the man standing before them. All is still as the man speaks. “You are all beautiful. Each and every one of y’all is beautiful. If you ever look in the mirror and you don’t look beautiful, walk away because that mirror is lyin’ to you.”

At most times in their life, these young faces would never believe him. However, tonight is different. Tonight, they had danced without fear of judgement. They look around.

Each face is free of prejudice and fear, love radiates off of each spirit, and everyone is truly beautiful. In each mind, they think the same thing, “If all these people here are beautiful tonight, then so am I.”

Beauty is about the heart, a beautiful heart is a beautiful mind. A beautiful mind is a beautiful soul. In each pair of shining eyes there is love, there is beauty.

Free Write

Filed under: My Writngs — audlife @ 7:08 pm

Ok, this is a real free write. Because I haven’t posted one in a while, I will debrief on what a free write is.

A free write is a writing where the author sits down and writes whatever crazy things come into their mind.

The one turned out to be a story, but I will put it under free write:

A cat ran fast and strong to escape the laughing child that chased it. Her mother called her into the house and the cat hide under the deck. Her green eyes searched the big green yard for more danger. She could feel the child’s footsteps entering the house above her. The cat moved slowly, leaving the deck, seeing a tall patch of dewy grass. She slid smoothly through it, barley making an imprint. She stalked the ground, searching for something to eat. She see saw a squirrel gathering acorns beneath the oak tree. The cat crouched, her eyes not leaving the squirrel who had not seen her. The cat moved closer and closer, watching the squirrel’s every move. Suddenly the squirrel seemed to sense he cat’s presence, and bolted. The cat races after it, her footsteps so quiet, the squirrel is not sure if she is still following it. The squirrel jumps, and lands on the side of an oak tree. Scrambling up it. The cat runs and leaps onto a branch. Leaping from branch to branch the cat chases the squirrel up the tree as fast as she can keep up. The squirrel gets to the top and laughs at the cat who has made it to the branch below her. It is evening, and the squirrel leaps one more time, spreads it’s wings and flies to the next tree. The cat climbed up to the top of the tree, astounded. Then, she felt a drop of rain. Her claws moved deeper into the tree as the rain began to fall harder. The cat meowed and meowed as she looked at the ground and saw how very far away it was. She felt the tree begin to move. Her fear became stronger as her wet fur began to weight her down. The cold bit at her pink nose, and she cried and cried, scared, cold, and afraid. The tree was moving more and more, she didn’t know if she could hold on any longer, when suddenly, a warm grasp held her small body, and she was placed in a warn jacket pocket. Slowly she felt herself moving down the tree. She shivered but curled close to the chest of the man who’s pocket she was in. She felt a thump, and a hand pull her out. The cat was handed to the little girl who had chased her. The little girl held her tenderly, and brought her inside.

The cat was safe at last.

Me?

Filed under: Dance, My Writngs — audlife @ 4:27 pm

Me?

Only me? Only me? Only here with a name, address, a life? Thats me? Who am I really? Who is that person hiding behind… me? Or is it me? Am I not myself? I hide from judgement, do others hate who I really am? Why? Why do I hide? Why can’t a hermit crab live without it’s shell? It can, but it needs protection right? But what if there is nothing to be protected from? What then? Then why am I hiding in this shell? Why can’t I be me?

Part 2

Filed under: My Writngs, School — audlife @ 8:35 pm

Here is Part two.

Back in that time, the underworld was nothing but a huge cave deep in the center of the earth. Aria hated it immediately. Although it was a lot like the small cave on Mount Everest, she still hated it because Tarion was living in it. She was furious at him for killing her parents. As she thought about them, silent tears slipped down her face. Tarion didn’t seem to notice, he was just so happy that he had Aria all to himself.

Tarion started to lead Aria down the hall to her room. Aria was thinking of revenge plans, but then Aria thought about what her father would say about her thinking of revenge and she quickly thought of something she could do to get out of this. She wished to avenge her parents by killing Tarion, and because she was a half Goddess, she knew what happened when you died back then. You would go to this empty world where you just float through the darkness.

Aria started weeping again at the thought of her parents floating around in the darkness with no one there to love them. Then she thought of her father being a God, and remember that he would go back to where he started, up where the Goddess Audrey was. She remember that since she was half God, she would be going up to where the Goddess Audrey was too, and never see here mother again.

Suddenly Tarion stopped. “Well, this is it. Your room.”, said Tarion. She went in and he shut the door for her. She looked around, everything was stone. The wardrobe, the bed, the chair, was stone. Even the bedcovers were stone. “How does Tarion sleep?”, she thought to herself. She thought, “What am I doing here in this room? Why don’t I just go out and get him?”

The it hit her, and idea that was perfect for him. It wasn’t death, it wasn’t even pain. She was thinking about he villagers and what they though happened to people who were bad. They would to go a place called “hell,” she thought it was called.

Suddenly she burst out of her room and ran toward the dining room. Tarion was already sitting at the table. “Ah, you’re here”, said Tarion. “I didn’t know that I was supposed to be here”, said Aria. “Maybe you didn’t hear me say so, you seemed so intent on one thought.”, said Tarion.

Aria did phase one of here plan. She grabbed a steak knife and stabbed herself through the chest. She found herself floating up, she saw the village, Goren. She saw the little cave and her parents dead bodies, but yet she was still going up. She found the part where you couldn’t breath, but still she could breath. She saw a cloud up ahead, and seemed to be heading straight for it.

Suddenly she was on top, and gorgeous buildings were around here. They were all made of the cloud, but still gorgeous. It was so beautiful, I cannot explain how beautiful she saw it as. She quickly ran to my temple, and burst into it.

I saw her fling herself in. Her face was red, and she was breathing quickly. “Goddess Audrey,” she said, very politely although at the same time out of breath. “Tarion has killed both my parents, and… father!” There he was, her father Beach, standing next to me. She ran to give her father a big hug. She quickly curtsied to me and said, “Goddess Audrey, I have had to go and live with Tarion, the evil God of the underworld. He is terribly evil. He killed my parents, and I’m sure that he has done more (for being known as the evil God of the underworld).

“Of course,” I said, “he has helped witches, he had come up here and stolen children for the witches, he as put curses on mortals, and killed them when they have just appeared. He is terribly evil.” I replied. “This is why I think that he should go to the very place that mortals believe that evil ones go to.” she said. “I believe” I said, thinking it over. “That that would be the right thing to do, but the only way my powers would work is if he were up here.”

“Oh, he’ll be up here.”, Aria said. I wondered what she meant. “What makes you so sure?”, I asked her. “Well, he went all the way up Mount Everest to kill both my parents so that he could steal me, so why doesn’t he just come up here to steal me again?” said Aria. “You have a point there.”, I said. “And he is so stupid that he is probably going to come bursting in here and say ’surrender’, and he will only realize his mistake when it is too late.”

Suddenly, the doors to the temple burst open, and Tarion came in yelling “Surrender Aria.” He stopped, clapped his hands to his mouth, looked up at me, and started to run for the door. Quickly I muttered a spell which froze him in his tracks. “ How about this, I will create one little box that will be just like what the mortals call “hell.”” I created the box right next to my chair, and with another spell, moved him into the box and sealed it. I unfroze him and he immediately jumped a foot in the air.

“I must congratulate you Aria, for being so brave in that time of hardship,” I said. Aria looked up at me and told me what she wished for me to do. “I wish that the mortals could have children as well as Gods, and that there was a better way for them to go when they died”, said Aria. “Very well,” I said, “I will do the same thing for babies as I did for Osana. As for dieing, I shall send all the mortals, depending on their personality, into a place where they will see their loved ones. It will be beautiful, wonderful, and never terrifying.”

Aria asked, “May I go back on earth then for the rest of my life?” “I’m sorry,” I said, “but your wish has been wasted. You cannot go back for you have stabbed yourself down there. Unless you wish to trade your last wish for this one, you will have to stay here. Either way I will send Osana up here.” “Thank you so much! I’m glad mother will be up here with me, and I’m not going to trade my wish, for I am helping millions and millions of mortals rather than myself.”, said Aria. “To make things easier, I will make all the mortals forget about ever having adults just appear, I will make them think that it has been going on like this forever.”, I said. Aria said “Thank you.”

And that is the my story. Now you know where you go when you die, and why you are born in the first place. No God is higher or better than you are. Mortals and Gods are the same, some are bad, some are good, yet we are all family. Everyone is at least 50 times removed from you. So really, we are all family, Gods and Goddesses, mortals, plants, animals, everyone is family.

Remember, I wrote this in 6th Grade.

Story

Filed under: My Writngs, School — audlife @ 10:00 pm

This is a story I wrote for an assignment in 6th Grade. I have better writing talents now, but this is ok still. The assignment was to write a myth where you are the God or Goddess. So I will put it in parts. This is the first part:

ONCE, long ago, there was a village, this village was in the mountains with Mount Everest, right in the middle of it. The village was called Goren, and living in Goren there was a young woman named Osana. She lived on a small farm right next to the mountain.

Now you see, at this time, a woman would just wish for a child and an adult would just appear out of thin air. Osana now, had read in the Monae (Bible) that Goddesses had babies like our style. Osana wanted to raise a child herself, so she went to the Audric temple to ask for a baby.

I saw how much she wanted a baby, and I pitied her terribly. I thought of the consequences, but at the same time, I was thinking “Why not? It’s just one person.” I granted her the wish. I looked through all my Gods and decided on Beach. Beach was the God of the coast, the lakes, the rivers, and the sea. I decided that he would be the perfect match for Osana.

I sent him down to earth as a student in Osana’s art class. Beach proved to be the perfect match for Osana. They quickly fell in love and soon Osana was granted a baby, but this was when the terrors really started. You see, it wasn’t just Gods that had babies, it was also those that did witchcraft and stole babies from the Gods and Goddesses. All the villagers, seeing that she had a baby, decided that she must have stolen it from God, and that she was a witch and Beach must be too. Shrieking with rage at even thinking of her stealing a baby from the Gods, they ran after her to kill her, take the baby, and give it the best care they could.

Although the villagers meant well, they did not know that I had granted her that baby. Osana ran up Mount Everest as quickly as she could, higher and higher and higher. None of the villagers followed. They knew that she was sure to die up on Mount Everest, but they all wept at the thought that a Gods child had suddenly gone.

Osana found a small cave high up in the mountain, built a fire, and found some brush for her and the baby’s bed. Beach, as a God, could easily move straight up the mountain as quickly as he wished, so he got there quickly. He told Osana that he was not an ordinary man, but a God, sent down to her by the Goddess Audrey. Osana accepted the news, though she wished he had told her before hand.

They lived up in the mountains for 17 happy years. Their new daughter, they found, was not a full God, just a half God, which meant that she was mortal. It also meant that she had the most gorgeous looks ever. Her name was Aria.

On her 17th year she was discovered by Tarion, the evil God of the earth. Tarion fell in love with Aria and decided to take her into the underworld.

Tarion came up to the mountain where Osana, Beach, and Aria were living. He came up and talked to Osana and Beach about him taking Aria down to the underworld to live. Osana didn’t like the idea very much, but she didn’t say anything because Tarion had much more power than she did. Beach, on the other hand, did not think, and told him that he would never allow his daughter to live with him. Tarion was furious, and in a quick flash, he had killed both Osana and Beach. Beach had not had enough time to utter a spell.

Aria had been watching all this from the mouth of the cave and was horrified to see her mother and father hit the ground at her feet. Tarion took advantage of Aria’s shock to grab her with a spell and take her into the underworld.

“Free Write”

Filed under: My Writngs, Opinions — audlife @ 1:59 pm

Ok, “Free Write” is an intresting word and if you just started reading my blog, you probably are still guessing what it is. ok, so a “Free Write” has two meanings. Both are styles of writing. One is the one I do not do as often. That is when you it down and just let every idea that comes into your head and write it down. I do a variation of that. I sit down and write about something on my mind, in a poetic way. It is not a poem, and not a story. Hopefully you understand and are not reading this going “What????”

Life and a Free Write

Filed under: My Writngs, School — audlife @ 10:30 pm

ok wow, i havn’t written in a while.

Well hi. Happy 2007! Tomorrow I am going to start getting registered for HMB high school. Also, I got an application to be Teen Staff at Camp Winnarainbow. This is hard enough to get an application, so hopefully I will be one of the few chosen.

In school we just finished the book “Animal Farm” by George Orewell. It is a fable about a farm where animals have a rebellion and take over and run the farm themselfs. It is run like a governmnt, and is like what is happening in government everywhere. It is heartbreaking and beautiful. I definatly recomend reading it.

Speaking of writings, I havn’t put any up here in a while. I’ll put up another Free write up here.

The Butterfly

The Caterpillar, looked up at the sky.
The Caterpillar, saw the colorful Butterflies.
The Butterflies, soared across the sky.
The Caterpillar, wished to fly with the Butterflies.
The Caterpillar, tried and tried to fly.
The Butterflies, laughed at his attempt.
The Caterpillar, became ashamed and built a cocoon
The Caterpillar, changed to become a Butterfly.
The Butterfly, soared across the sky.
The Butterfly, was not happy.
The Butterfly, missed it’s old self.
The Butterfly, cried and cried for itself.
The Butterfly, cried so hard it cried an ocean.
The Butterfly, fell into the ocean.
The Butterfly, was lost.
The Caterpillar, looked up at the sky.

Girl Scouts and Scary Story/Poem/Free Write

Filed under: My Family, My Writngs, School — audlife @ 11:30 pm

I really don’t understand why girlsjoin girl scouts. You do stuff that teaches you stuff, and you get badges. Thats it! BORING! (no offence to girl scouts) I probably shouldn’t be talking about girl scouts like this. I mean, my sister is a girl scout and my mom is a leader. But really, I don’t see any fun so far. Oh well.

Since I have been reading so much Egar Allen Poe in school, I decided to try to write a creepy poem myself. It probably isn’t very good, but oh well.

I walk through the bustling streets of a big city. I see the bright lights of the tall buildings that meet the starry sky. I walk through the crowds of laughing people, and smile.
But as I walk, the crowds thin, and the lights dim. Soon, I can only see some old buildings with cold, broken empty windows. I feel my hands freeze over. I feel a shudder creep up my spine. I light suddenly lights up and I see in front of me my shadow falling across the ground.
My eyes slowly, glide to one side, soon, my head follows. then my waist. I whirl around to see what may lie behind me.
Two bright lights shine in my eyes, they blind me. I hear a growling, like a giant beast. I turn and run. The growl turns to a roar of an engine. I cannot look back.
The nook ahead, it stopped everything, the one crack in the sidewalk.
I fall. The ground speeds up to meet me so fast I barley register. I lift my head, my hands reach up to my face. I feel the warm, sticky blood all over my hands. I hear a door slam. I look to see a tall, frowning man illuminated by the the two bright lights. His face is contorted with menace. Dark, greasy hair nearly covers his eyes which glow with a fiery passion for death.
I look at him with horror as he lifts his gun, I look into the eyes and see a slight familiarity, but before I can tell who he is, I hear the bang of the gun, and I am gone.
I am soaked with sweat. My sheets are twisted, and I am in tears. I look up at the picture of him on my room wall, and scream.

Well then, hope you enjoyed it.

Buh Bye!

Learning about myself through dance.

Filed under: Dance, My Writngs, Opinions, School — audlife @ 2:22 am

In dance, our group has been working on “bringing down the wall” the wall represents what we, humans, people, put up to protect us from what simply is not there. Ever noticed one of those times, that you are talking to someone and they say something about you like, oh, “Dude, your weird,” and you imediatly put up a wall. Or, when you meet someone new, and you just ignore them? why?

This “wall” also represents who you are to others. Like talke me for example, My name is Audrey, i have an address, a family, a house, a life. I’m easy going, happy all the time, and a person who loves to have fun. That is my wall.

Now, i am learning about me. The real me. I have noticed that i do not like not getting my way. I am a very rough, angry person sometimes, and yet i still want to have fun. There is more, but it is hard to explain, i will learn more, just, this is all I have found, for now. Here are some free writes about dance.

The Protector

There is she, and there is her close friend, the friend is her ruler, her king. She follows her friend’s orders, while it protects from something that is not there. There are others, all around, and she watches curiously.
One of the others moves toward her. “Come out! Come out! It is safe!” But as she says this, her close friend says “No, No, it is not safe.” She listens to her close friend, the one who protects her.
Another moves toward her and says “Nobody cares! Come out and be happy!” But the close friend says “No, no, everyone will think you are stupid.” She listens to the close friend once again.
One more reaches out, and says “Come on! Come On! Come to the place your friend cannot!” but the close friend says, “No! I will not protect you there!”
She looks between her dear friend and the glimpse of her true self. She says to herself, “Does my friend really protect me? Is there anything to be protected from?”
She breaks free. Her life that her protector built is gone. So what is left?
“Me.” Says she, and reaches for another, whose friend is holding her back.

Into The Mystic World of Music

We start on hardwood, looking, but with a blink, our feet lift from the ground and our spirits soar. We reach for each other, as each displays themselves.
The vibrations of our bodies connect, we are one, and always will be as long as the music is on, and we are free in the mystic world of music.
We are dancing together, we connect only with the music, and ourselves. Our hearts soar, as we dance in the golden lake, dance high over the pearly clouds, and dance low over the everlasting hills. The ongoing footsteps and troubles of the outside world no longer bother us. Our spirits are free in the mystic world of music, as our hearts lead them.
Hope you enjoyed!!!!
